My thoughts on baseball...as stated by Rogers Hornsby

"People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring." - Rogers Hornsby

So, being a science teacher is interesting these days...

...I do, however, have the luxury of teaching in a Christian school. This has been a tremendous blessing as I can teach what I love, science, and teach it under the worldview that I love, Biblical.

Many people today have the idea that science and Christianity are incompatible. I take a different view. It is my belief that as science makes continued discoveries, they will provide more and more evidence to support the Biblical account.

The culture of "the west" has been infiltrated with "millions of years" thinking, "separatist" attitudes that science and Christianity are mutually exclusive, and an "elitist" attitude that only secular science can properly seek and find "truth." It is a sad state of affairs.

The Bible is not a science textbook, and I'm glad it is not...science textbooks are constantly changing, morphing, updating theories and discoveries...the Bible is constant. However, the Bible does, in fact, brush up with science issues. It is when the Bible comes into contact with scientific issues that we should defer to the Bible and lean not on our own understanding.

Evolution cannot be proven to be either true or false. Special Creation cannot be proven to be true or false. It is the un-falsifiability of both which places them in the category of "Worldview." I have a Biblical worldview of nature, the universe, and all that is in it. Other people have a naturalistic/materialistic worldview of the universe. But to be certain, they are both worldviews which bring about their own set of biases and presuppositions. It is through these biases and presuppositions that we view operational science.

Therefore, it is with great joy that I, and the rest of the science staff at my school, teach wonderful operational science through the Biblical worldview of God's Word!

Salvation is of the Lord

"I do not believe we can preach the gospel, if we do not preach justification by faith, without works; nor unless we preach the sovereignty of God in His dispensation of grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable, conquering love of Jehovah; nor do I think we can preach the gospel, unless we base it upon the special and particular redemption of His elect and chosen people which Christ wrought out upon the cross; nor can I comprehend a gospel which lets saints fall away after they are called, and suffers the children of God to be burned in the fires of damnation after having once believed in Jesus. Such a gospel I abhor." -C.H. Spurgeon
